$100,000 for 100 Years
A Centennial Celebration for Bay Lake Camp!
Beginning in January 2009, Bay Lake Camp will begin celebrating a 100 years of ownership over Church Island. Through a unique gift in 1909, from A.F. Landstrom, the First Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church began the process of deciding what to do with this incredible piece of property--ultimately, the congregation voted to go ahead with a the idea of a camp for youth and Christian young people, which continues to this day. The folks from First Lutheran were not the only ones to support the idea of a camp; others from various church through the young cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis also joined in, including members of the Lutheran Brotherhood. We continue this history by drawing clients from a wide variety of Christian and civic settings: everyone from 4H and the Boy Scouts, to churches of various denominations and theological backgrounds, to business and non-profit groups seeking new vision.  Our brand new facilities and vintage charm will help us continue reaching out to new people, but the heart of our mission remains the same today as it was in the beginning: to offer a wilderness and lake country experience to those who have never experienced it and never could without our help.

To this end, we will be extending an invitation to ALL our friends to support the mission of Bay Lake Camp during the coming year by raising $100,000 for the next 100 years.

Throughout 2009, Bay Lake Camp will be offering stories of our unique history, and encouraging you to participate. Do you have a Bay Lake Camp/Church Island story? Help us tell it by sending us an email (info@baylakecamp.net), so we can collect lots of wonderful stories to share, culminating in a book of Church Island history that covers the last ten decades. Together we've accomplished so much, 2009 will be an opportunity to share that rich heritage for future generations.

We ask you to consider supporting Bay Lake Camp in raising $100,000 for the next 100 years. Donations can be mailed to:
