Stories! Memories! Testimonies!
“We enjoyed our stay at Bay Lake Camp where we celebrated our family reunion in June. Your staff was tremendous. We enjoyed all of the activities and you made us all fell "special". The kids will remember this summer for the rest of their lives." ~Chuck Hoffman, FL
"Bay Lake Camp is the most peaceful place I have been to in a long time. The lodge is new and beautiful, the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the island itself is heaven on earth! I can't wait to go back again and again.” ~ Jeanne Cook, Western WI Creative Memories Consultant
"Because of Bay Lake Camp, we have a home on Bay Lake. As a young teenage girl, I was a camper there, more than a few years ago! Today some of the same sleeping cabins still exist. What fun we had. One special night a lifeguard, Butch Larson, took me "snipe hunting". It was so much fun!! What memories!" ~Fern Tengdin, Bahle Point Road
"I attended BLC as a camper 5 of the eligible 6 years. When I was 13 a friend from my baseball team introduced me to a friend of his from Faith Lutheran Church, which shared camping weeks with us. I remember sitting on the green bench outside Cabin 2, wearing my baseball cap as usual. This nice girl Kim came up and said hello and we became friends. After a couple more years together as campers, we were ready to be counselors, so during the training session on the 1st day this girl sits next to me and starts catching up on how life was and after about 10 minutes I looked at her with a blank face and said "who are you again?" Needless to say she was hurt because we had been good friends each year as campers. Well, after that time I never forgot her again and we stayed very good friends throughout High School and College and on May 4,1996 I was fortunate enough to marry the most wonderful woman, my best friend whom I met 12 years earlier outside of cabin 2 at the most blessed place on earth, Bay Lake Camp!" ~ Mike & Kim (Roelofs) Ostrum
"Bay Lake has given me many fond memories over the years. I spent 5 years as a camper, ˝ of a summer as a staff boy, life guard, and as a counselor. We had a 1948 Jeep 4X4 to haul food and supplies. The only problem was that it only ran if you had your foot on the gas and one on the clutch. It did not have any brakes for half the summer until my Dad helped with putting a brake line on the Jeep and rebuilt the carburetor. Somehow, we always felt God must have been watching over us, as all of us learned how to drive it in those conditions and never hit anything. The staff was always treated wonderfully and most of us grew up quickly learning a lot of tools that we carried into later life. Gary Anderson was the lifeguard that summer and tricked me into learning how to swim from camp to the loading dock and back. Before that I could only swim about 100 yards." ~ Dave Fabio, Stillwater, MN
